Terms & Academic Year

The Seminary’s academic calendar includes four terms:

  • Trinity Term (September–November)

  • Incarnation Term (January–March)

  • Resurrection Term (March–June)

  • Pentecost Term (June–July – Summer Intensives)

The first three terms are 11 weeks long (10 weeks of classes + 1 week of exams). Pentecost Term typically offers 5 weeks of classes followed by 1 week of exams, though courses in the summer term may be lengthened or shortened as circumstances warrant.

Scheduled Breaks

  • Advent–Christmas Break: Thanksgiving through New Year’s

  • Easter—Holy Week: Variable, dates observed; does not always align with Spring Break

  • Summer Break: Late July through late August

The Seminary also reserves the end of August for:

  • “Jump Start” biblical language courses

  • Remedial work

  • Program requirement catch-up

Annual Events

  • Convocation: Early September (formal launch of each new academic year)

  • Commencement: Early-mid June (live and streamed graduation ceremony)

  • RefRESh Retreat (Mid-late June): A weeklong in-person gathering for students, faculty, staff, and Board members—focused on fellowship, spiritual renewal, and recreation—before Summer Intensives begin. A two-day, one-credit intensive course may be offered during the Retreat.

January 8 – Last day to add a class
January 15 – Last day to drop with a full refund
January 19 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day (not observed)
February 6 – Last day to drop with a “W” and partial refund
February 10 – ASH WEDNESDAY Break (observed, no classes)
February 15 – Presidents’ Day (not observed)
March 15–20 – Incarnation Term Examinations
March 21–28 – Resurrection Term (Spring) Break
– HOLY WEEK Break (observed, no classes)
